Heavy Duty Bale Feeders for Aussie Conditions

Updated: May 10, 2021

This country of ours is beautiful, but it can also have some pretty tough weather conditions. At Willie’s Manufacturing Industries, we understand this, and make our feeders accordingly.

WMI is an Australian-owned and operated company, run by father and son team Wayne and Jason Willie. The pair took over Carroll’s Manufacturing Industries in April 2009. We are based in Warrnambool, Victoria, but our feeders can now be found stocked by dealers in Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, and other locations in Victoria.

We believe in creating tough machinery that can stand the test of time. In fact, the first machine we made is still going strong 17 years after it was built! We use a simple design paired with quality welding to create feeders that stand the test of time. All of our feeders have a high ground clearance, along with their strong and robust design.

We don’t just make bale feeders. WMI is also on hand to assist with a range of farm equipment fabrication projects. This includes trailers of all sizes, structural steel, stock crates, hay forks, and tractor tow hitches. Want to know more about the work we can undertake? Get in touch with our friendly team today!

Whether you’re after a heavy duty round bale feeder, or a feeder that can handle both round and square bales, we have a range available to suit a variety of needs.

Round Bale Hay Feeders

We design and manufacture two feeders that exclusively handle round bales. These round bale hay feeders are:

The Elite

Designed to carry up to two round bales at a time, the Elite model can feed out both hay and silage and has a versatile loading system with collapsible forks for added safety. This machine was first released in May 2010, and features a simple chain adjustment, and rippers that travel over the top of the chassis to reduce component damage. The Elite also has user-friendly maintenance, and a versatile loading system with collapsible forks for safety. It is 2.3 metres wide, 4.6 metres long, 1.2 metres high, and weighs 960 kilograms.

The Champion

The Champion is designed for those looking to carry large amounts of hay or silage. This machine is a heavy duty round bale feeder that can hold up to six round bales of hay. It has a versatile loading system with collapsible forks for safety, and a simple chain adjustment. The Champion also has an independent tandem rocker system, and rippers that travel over the top of the chassis to reduce component damage. The standard dimensions of this 6-bale machine are 2.3 metres wide, 6.9 metres long, 1.5 metres high, with a weight of 1.8 to 1.9 tonnes, however, smaller machines can be made to order.

Round and Square Hay Feeders

Looking for a versatile feeder, capable of handling both round and square hay bales? WMI manufactures two different kinds of feeder for the task. These are:

The Albybone

This machine can carry both round and square bales. It can fit either 6 square bales or 5 round bales, or a variety of the two placed in any order. The Albybone has an independent tandem rocker system, and an extendable chamber allowing it to accommodate bales of all sizes. It also has a curved chamber for pad feeding, and can be used for carting in. The standard Albybone model is 2.5 metres wide, 8.1 metres long, 2.25 metres high, and weighs 2.1 tonnes, however, larger machines can built to order, if required.

The Pa-Mick

Great for those who are looking to transport smaller loads of round or square bales of hay. The Pa-Mick can carry up to two bales at a time, one of each type, and in any order. This piece of machinery has a specially-designed curved chamber able to hold feed pads up to 1.2 metres high. The Pa-Mick has an independent tandem rocker system, and an extendable chamber to accommodate all bale sizes. It is a highly versatile feeder, and can also be used for carting in.

The Pa-Mick is 2.5 metres wide, 4.9 metres long, 1.95 metres high, and weighs 1.2 tonnes.

At WMI, we make a range of bale feeders. So, whether you’re after a heavy duty round bale feeder, or a feeder that can carry both round and square bales, we have options available. We can also assist with a range of general fabrication services.
